Faculty from Florida Atlantic University in partnership with scholars from Musicfor America, Musicfor Italia Onlus, and L'Ateneo Internazionale della Lirica di Sulmona, are very proud to present:

"Poesia al Castello"
A four-day study camp with lectures and research at Castiglione del Terziere Castle in Lunigiana, Tuscany.
(June 26–30, 2022)

“Geometafore del castello: la poesia di Loris Bononi e i suoi luoghi”

“Geometaphors of the Castle: Loris Bononi’s Poetry and Its Places”

Students will explore the concept of the geometaphor, recently theorized by Dr. Ilaria Serra in an article for Italian Culture, and apply it to the poetry of Loris Bononi, owner of the castle and visionary. The lessons are enriched by first-hand contact with Bononi’s places, his handwritten notes, his unpublished poems, and the stones of the medieval castle he rebuilt.

Students will also help document the second birth of the opera “Amalia e Carlo” through the work of Florida Atlantic University Ph.D. student Barbara Salani and professor Dr. Mitchell Hutchings.

Open to a limited number of FAU students and friends.

Students may apply for the Marco Pozza Research Fellowship which will cover the lodging cost for the four nights.
