If you’re looking for a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in Florida, I hope you’ll take a serious look at Florida Atlantic University. As a voice professor here, I’ve had the privilege of helping undergraduate singers grow into confident, expressive, and technically solid artists—ready for the stage, graduate school, or whatever path they choose.
At FAU, the BM in Voice Performance is designed to prepare singers for real careers. Whether you’re drawn to opera, art song, musical theatre, or crossover styles, we provide the foundation and the space to grow artistically and professionally.
What Makes the Voice Program at FAU Stand Out?
A Personalized Approach to Vocal Training
Every student in our program receives weekly one-on-one voice lessons, studio classes, and regular coaching in diction, acting, interpretation, and more. I tailor my teaching to each singer’s voice and goals. We focus on building a healthy, sustainable technique while developing the tools to communicate honestly and artfully.
Performance from the Start
From your very first year, you’ll have opportunities to perform. Students regularly take part in:
Fully staged productions
Opera workshop concerts and scenes
Master classes with visiting artists
Studio recitals and department-wide performances
Getting on stage early—and often—is a core part of our philosophy. You don’t have to wait until you’re a junior or senior to be seen and heard.

Study Opera Abroad in Italy
Each summer, I lead FAU Opera in Italy, a month-long immersive training program open to students from any institution. Our voice majors receive priority access. It’s one of the highlights of our year: daily lessons, master classes, performances, and time to take in the culture that shaped this art form. The experience is intense, transformative, and unforgettable.
Career Preparation Built In
Throughout your time at FAU, I will work with you on more than just vocal technique. We’ll focus on audition preparation, repertoire planning, performance mindset, and creating a portfolio that reflects your unique strengths. I want you to leave the program with the confidence and tools you need for graduate study, professional auditions, or freelance creative work.
