At Florida Atlantic University and throughout his collegiate teaching career, Dr. Mitchell Hutchings has worked with singers at multiple stages of development, from undergraduate study through graduate training and emerging professional careers. Students of Mitchell Hutchings have earned repeated first-place and finalist recognition through the National Association of Teachers of Singing Student Auditions at chapter and regional levels.

At the 2025 Southeastern Regional NATS Student Auditions, collegiate singers studying with Hutchings earned five top-two finishes across classical voice and musical theatre:
